The capital will let RSVP.ai continue the commercialisation of natural language processing technologies derived from the work of its founding partners Waterloo and Tsinghua universities.
RSVP.ai, a Canada-based natural language processing (NLP) services spinout of University of Waterloo and Tsinghua University, has procured $10m in a series A-plus round led by venture firm Shenzhen Capital, China Money Network reported yesterday.
Founded in 2013, RSVP.ai has created an NLP platform that allows clients to integrate conversational interfaces into applications such as smart home technologies, toys and medical devices.
The company also offers a machine learning-powered NLP platform catered to corporate clients wanting to set up virtual assistants including chatbots.
The funding will reportedly fund continued development of RSVP.ai’s NLP capabilities with an eye on the commercial chatbot and deep learning segments.
RSVP.ai previously received $747,000 of funding in 2015 from Canadian government-owned regional development agency FedDev Ontario, according to Betakit.
