ETH Zurich spinout RosieReality has attracted $2.2m in seed capital led by Redalpine, with a contribution from existing backer Akatsuki.
RosieReality, a Switzerland-based augmented reality (AR) content creator spun out of ETH Zurich, has raised $2.2m in a seed round led by Redalpine, TechCrunch reported today.
Akatsuki Entertainment Fund, an investment vehicle of mobile games developer Akatsuki, also participated in the round, as did Shasta Ventures and private investors Mattias Ljungman and Siraj Khaliq.
RosieReality is working on AR experiences to inspire children’s interest in robotics and programming. Its first app is built around a robot called Rosie that lives in a modular world where children and their friends build and solve 3D puzzles.
The puzzles are solved by programming Rosie to move around her world.
The spinout previously closed a $700,000 pre-seed round in December 2017 led by Shasta Ventures, with commitments from Akatsuki Entertainment Fund, General Catalyst Scouting Program and Anorak Ventures.
