Huber+Suhner has acquired Cambridge spinout RoadMap Systems for an undisclosed amount.
RoadMap Systems, a UK-based optical network technology spinout from University of Cambridge, has been bought by optical technologies producer Huber+Suhner.
Financial terms were not disclosed. RoadMap will be integrated into the Polatis business unit, which sits within Huber+Suhner’s communication segment in Cambridge.
RoadMap spun out from Cambridge’s Centre for Advanced Photonics and Electronics in 2014 to develop wavelength-selective switch devices that enable optical telecom and data networks to route network traffic according to demand.
The spinout raised an undisclosed amount of series B financing from Parkwalk Advisors-managed University of Cambridge Enterprise Fund V in 2018. It had secured $1.7m in 2016 in a round led by tech transfer office Cambridge Enterprise.
Cambridge Enterprise had already led a seed round worth more than $625,000 in 2014.
