The IMDEA Materials Institute is one of seven Madrid Institutes for Advanced Studies (IMDEA), a public research centre founded in 2007 by Madrid’s regional government.
Pesqueira started working at IMDEA Materials in 2016 as a project manager. Before this, he was a manager for seven years at The Spanish Technological Platform for Advanced Materials and Nanomaterials (MATERPLAT), an IMDEA Materials-managed research platform.
IMDEA Materials’ notable spinouts include Floatech, a Madrid-based free-standing silicon nanowire sheet producer which raised $1.3m in a seed funding round led by Grow Venture Partners in 2023.
