Gundi joins Northern Gritstone at a time of capital expansion at the investment company.

UK spinout investment company Northern Gritstone has hired Parth Gundi as investment manager.

Gundi (pictured) was at Torch Partners, a boutique investment bank in London, where he handled M&A and growth equity deals in sectors such as deep tech and fintech.

Northern Gritstone invests in spinouts from the northern England universities of Leeds, Sheffield and Manchester. It also invests in startups in the north of England.

The firm recently raised £50m ($67m) in capital from UK financial services firms Aviva and Fulcrum Asset Management as well as several pension funds. The capital injection increased the investment company’s total permanent capital to £362m.
