Parkwalk made the revelations in a bullish quarterly update that cited the UK government's interest in invigorating deep tech research amid covid-19.

Parkwalk Advisors, the fund management arm of UK-based commercialisation firm IP Group, has reported making a total of 21 investments and securing three exits since March 2020.
The revelations came as Parkwalk published its official update for the third quarter, however the unit did not say which companies were involved.
Highlights during the quarter included a $5.3m round for University of Southampton radiation detection equipment spinout Symetrica closed in July 2020.
Parkwalk also picked out University of Cambridge’s clinical genomics analysis software developer Congenica, which has pivoted its technology to address covid-19.
The unit anticipates a favourable investment climate as the UK government looks to sustain deep tech research amid the pandemic, lining up with an existing pledge to bring annual state R&D investment to $28.7bn by 2022.
