The series A funding comes after predictive data analytics companies MoBagel went through a resources-only edition of the SkyDeck accelerator last year.
MoBagel, a US-based predictive data analytics graduate of University of California, Berkeley accelerator SkyDeck, has obtained $5m in a series A round led by IT and technology services group Wistron Digital Technology Holding Company.
Founded in 2009, MoBagel provides enterprise clients with an automated software engine for building machine-learning powered data analytics programs.
The engine, named Decanter AI, is intended for companies hoping to exploit data science and internet-of-things systems to gather insights and improve decision-making, without the need to recruit an entire data science team.
SingTel Innov8, the corporate venturing division of telecoms firm Singapore Communications, reportedly featured in MoBagel’s $3m round in April 2017, along with online media company CyberAgent, 500 Startups, FundersClub, Wei Fund, Tsinghua Entrepreneur Association Angel Fund and unspecified international banks.
MoBagel also held an inaugural funding round in 2015, according to Inside, however further details could not be ascertained.
The company participated in the fall 2018 iteration of SkyDeck through the accelerator’s HotDesk program, a resources-orientated training scheme that does not explicitly offer equity funding.
