Chalmers Ventures has contributed to a $1.5m funding round for cleantech developer Metry.

Metry, a Sweden-based platform that analyses energy usage to help real estate companies increase the efficiency of their buildings, has raised Skr14m ($1.5m) in funding from investors including Chalmers Ventures.
Chalmers Ventures, the university venture fund and incubator arm of Chalmers University of Technology, participated alongside lead investor Summa Equity. The round also included Andreas Rydholm, chairman of Metry.
Founded in 2012, Metry has developed a platform that allows property managers to monitor their energy consumption. The platform collects billions of data points from large real estate providers and provides analytics to increase energy efficiency.
The funding will go towards continued brand development and drive growth both in Sweden and internationally.
Chalmers Ventures previously took part in a $700,000 funding round in 2016 together with Almi and assorted angel investors. Metry is a graduate of Chalmers Ventures’ incubator program.
Joel Torkelsson, chief commercial officer and co-founder of Metry, said: “Since sustainability is one of the core values of Metry, Summa Equity’s purpose and investment focus on solving global challenges is a great fit.
“The new growth funds serve as proof that many out there share our vision to help build a more energy efficient real estate sector. We look forward to continued growth and feel empowered going forward to have Summa Equity onboard supporting our journey.”
