Gelion, a UK-based battery technology developer spun out of University of Sydney, is set to begin trading on the London Stock Exchange’s Alternative Investment Market on November 30, 2021 after raising £16m ($21m) in an initial public offering at a $205m valuation. Gelion’s energy storage technology relies on a zinc-bromide gel that uses low-cost, abundant raw materials and makes the batteries highly fire resistant. The spinout had raised nearly £12.3m in total equity funding since being incorporated in 2015.
