Mining and Process Solutions (MPS), an Australia-based mineral extraction technology spinout of Curtin University, has been acquired by chemical supplier Draslovka. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. MPS has created technology to extract minerals such as gold, copper, cobalt and nickel using amino acids to leach ores.
3D Bio-Tissues, a UK-based biological tissue material producer spun out of Newcastle University, has agreed to a reverse merger with BSF Enterprise for a consideration of £2.5m ($3.1m). BSF Enterprise is also aiming to raise $2.3m from a share placing to fund future development of the technology, and the conclusion of the takeover is conditional on the success of that share placing as well as other, undisclosed conditions.
