Life sciences firm Entvantage Diagnostics has raised $1m of its planned $1.4m from unnamed backers.
According to news provider Austin Business Journal, the company will be looking to raise the remaining $400,000 over the coming weeks, and will use the proceeds to fund a six-month development of its test which diagnoses bacterial sinus infections. The test kit is based on research from Ohio State University and Nationwide Children’s Hospital, also based in Ohio.
If successful, the company is planning to conduct a consumer trial next year as it pursues approval from the US Food and Drug Administration, and has plans to bring its test to market within the next two years.
