Institute for Q-shu Pioneers of Space, a Japan-based small satellite synthetic aperture radar developer also known as iQPS using technology developed at Kyushu University, has completed a ¥1.05bn ($9.1m) second close for its series B funding, having secured the money from Mirai Creation Fund 3, a joint vehicle between asset manager Sparx Group and automaker Toyota, in addition to Mizuho Capital, Oita Venture Capital and Yamaguchi Capital, subsidiaries of financial services firms Mizuho Bank, Oita Bank and Yamaguchi Financial Group respectively, and brokerage SMBC Nikko Securities. Adding the initial ¥3.85bn ($33.4m) close, the company’s series B round now stands at ¥4.9bn ($42.5m) and its overall funding reached ¥8.25bn ($71.5m).

Bee Corp, a US-based bee farm management technology developer, has raised $125,000 from IU Angel Network, the angel investment arm of Indiana University’s fund manager IU Ventures. The company previously obtained $1m in a round featuring IU Ventures’ Philanthropic Venture Fund, Elevate Ventures and Thrive in 2020.
