Every day, Global University Venturing rounds up investments from across the university innovation ecosystem in its deal net.

GenomeUp, an Italy-based artificial intelligence-powered genetic analysis technology developer, has raised $1.2m in a seed round led by Lumen Ventures, with participation from AImpact, Finalca, GCM Group and Padda Health. The company was co-founded by chief executive Simone Gardini during his PhD research at University of Siena. GenomeUp previously secured €200,000 ($237,000) in funding from LVenture Group, angel investors and undisclosed others in July 2018.
