Ribbon Biolabs, an Austria-based high-throughput DNA synthesis technology developer, raised €18m ($20m) in a series A round yesterday featuring IST Cube, the venture fund of Institute of Science and Technology Austria. Hadean Ventures led the round, while Lansdowne Partners, Helicase Venture, Tecnet Equity and a range of undisclosed investors also participated. IST Cube, Tecnet and Austria Wirtschaftsservice, through its Seed Förderung programme, had injected a six-figure sum in March 2019.
Woba, a Denmark-based platform to measure employee satisfaction, has secured DKK18m ($2.7m) in a funding round led by PreSeed Ventures, the venture capital arm of Technical University of Denmark, KapitalWatch reported yesterday. The money will enable Woba to scale its operations internationally.
Veneno Technologies, a Japan-based creator of technology designed to convert functional peptides into medicines, has closed a ¥200m ($1.8m) funding round that included Tsukuba Institute of Research as well as financial services provider SBI, which took part through its SBI Investment vehicle. The round was filled out by an unspecified regional activation support company.
