Virtual Incision, a US-based robotic surgery device developer spun out of University of Nebraska-Lincoln, picked up $46m on Tuesday in a series C round co-led by Endeavour Vision and Baird Capital. The round also featured Bluestem Capital and undisclosed others. Bluestem had previously led a $20m series B-plus round in January 2020.
Babyscripts, a US-based virtual maternity care provider, secured $7.5m in a series B extension on Tuesday supplied by health system Cigna’s corporate venturing arm, Cigna Ventures, together with its peers Atlantic Health System and Texas Medical Center, the latter of which invested through its Venture Fund. Babyscripts had raised an initial $12m series B tranche backed by CU Healthcare Innovation Fund, an affiliate of University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, in September 2021. The company has now raised $37m in funding altogether, it said.
Aindo, an Italy-based synthetic data generation spinout of International School for Advanced Studies (SISSA), has raised €2.8m ($3.1m) in funding from Vertis Venture 3 Technology Transfer, a spinout-focused vehicle supported by fund-of-funds ItaTech, according to Trieste Prima.
