Natural language processing startup DataFox raises $5m in series A backed by Stanford-Start X fund.

The Stanford-StartX fund is one of two returning investors in natural language processing startup DataFox’s $5m series A round.
Investment bank Goldman Sachs and Green Visor Capital were two of the new backers in DataFox, and were joined by the Stanford student incubator’s uncapped investment fund and Google Ventures, the corporate venture capital arm of the internet giant.
As part of the deal, Simon Yoo of Green Visor and Rana Yared of Goldman Sachs join DataFox’s board as director and observer, respectively.
The US-based firm, launched two years ago, is working to compile corporate information from datasets that cover information on companies, sectors, and people, and make it accessible through natural language processing.
