MIT spinout Copious Imaging has been acquired by Anduril Industries for an undisclosed amount.

Copious Imaging, a US-based motion imaging systems spinout of Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), was acquired by defence company Anduril Industries for an undisclosed sum at the end of last month.

Founded in 2017, Copious Imaging’s wide-area infrared sensing with persistence technology is set to complement the artificial intelligence-assisted detection and tracking technology Anduril already markets to counter unmanned aircraft systems.

Copious’ technology has also been under development for use in autonomous systems.
