Internet company Tencent returned to lead the online grocer's $31m series B round, having previously backed its $10m series A.

China-based fresh produce online shop MissFresh has closed a RMB200m ($31m) series B round led by internet company Tencent, China Money Network reported today.

Venture capital firm Zheshang Venture Capital Management and undisclosed additional investors also participated in the round.

Founded in December 2014, MissFresh operates a mobile app that consumers can use to order fresh groceries. The company claims to fulfil approximately one million orders per month through the app.
