Sumni, backed by multiple corporates, has raised at least $30m in a series C round from unnamed backers.
Sunmi Technology, a China-based point-of-sale technology developer backed by smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi, has raised several hundreds of millions of renminbi (RMB100m = $15m) from unnamed investors, China Money Network reported today.
Founded in 2014, Sunmi provides handheld and desktop smart payment devices that use a proprietary Android-based payment system called Sunmiui. Restaurants can directly integrate food delivery apps such as Ele.me.
The company’s platform, open to developers, currently offers more than 3,000 applications that can be installed on the terminals.…
