Telefónica Tech Ventures and Bankinter invested in an $11.9m round that will drive international growth for the anti-piracy software producer.

Smart Protection, a Spain-based provider of anti-content piracy technology, completed a €10m ($11.9m) series B round yesterday backed by Telefónica Tech Ventures, the cybersecurity-focused investment arm of telecommunications firm Telefónica.

The round was co-led by venture capital firms Knight Capital and Swanlaab Venture Factory with participation from financial services firm Bankinter, Spanish national innovation agency CDTI, Nauta Capital, Big Sur Ventures and JME Ventures.
