GE Ventures contributed to an oversubscribed series B round led by Sapphire Ventures that the container data management company will use to add new features.

US-based data services provider Portworx raised $20m in series B funding on Wednesday from investors including GE Ventures, the corporate venturing vehicle for industrial conglomerate General Electric.

The round was led by Sapphire Ventures, the venture capital firm spun out of software developer SAP, and also featured Mayfield Fund and additional, unnamed existing backers.
