Nate Morgan, principal at HubSpot Ventures, is one of our top 50 Rising Stars in corporate venturing for 2026.

In 2025, HubSpot Ventures, the investment arm of HubSpot, the AI-powered customer platform, had a banner year, making a record 20 new investments. These included taking stakes in Lovable, the Swedish AI app builder, and ElevenLabs, the London-based startup using AI for ultra-realistic voice generation.
Nate Morgan, who was promoted to principal last year, is a key member of the small team of four managing this growing portfolio. Boston-based Morgan focuses on building deeper relationships with founders and co-investors, chiefly on the US east coast and Europe.
HubSpot Ventures invests from the parent company balance sheet rather than having a separate fund, and partnerships between the portfolio companies and HubSpot are a core driver. Investments are made strategically to build lasting ties, “whether they are building tools that HubSpot itself should use as an enterprise customer, or tools that HubSpot’s 250,000+ customers can use,” says Morgan. “We want to help unlock commercial opportunities across the entire HubSpot customer base and ecosystem.”
“We want to help unlock commercial opportunities across the entire HubSpot customer base and ecosystem.”
Morgan and the HubSpot Ventures team regularly introduce portfolio companies to HubSpot product and engineering teams to explore partnership opportunities, which has led to several recent collaborations with companies such as Mintlify, Descript and ElevenLabs.
Looking ahead, Morgan has a strong interest in startups working at the intersection of AI and marketing. “There is a really interesting opportunity in personalised content, just in time, much more direct advertising and a way for the impact and return on investment of advertising spend to be measured and analysed much more fluidly,” he says.
Morgan also points to the challenge and excitement of handling “unstructured data, call recording, voice agents capturing so much signal and being able to make sense of it”.

The Rising Stars are early-career corporate venture professionals who are making an outstanding contribution to their teams and the industry.
