Blogging platform Medium has raised $25m in series A funding from investors including Google Ventures, to help with expansion and infrastructure scaling.
Medium, headquartered in San Francisco, is a blogging platform that focuses on text and written information that offers a suite of collaborative tools for editing.
The $25m raised in series A funding marks the first investment not to come from Evan Williams, co-founder, or his incubator The Obvious Corporation. The funding round saw investment from Google Ventures, Greylock Partners, CAA Ventures, CODE Advisors and many individual investors including Tim O’Reilly, Micharl Ovitz and Gary Vaynerchuk.
David Sze and Josh Elman of Greylock Partners join Medium as partners.
