Abhi Kumar is heading up a newly opened Indian office for Microsoft's corporate venturing unit, which has already begun investing in the country.

M12, the corporate venture capital subsidiary of US-headquartered software provider Microsoft, announced yesterday it has opened an office in Bengaluru, India, adding to locations in the US, UK and Israel.

Formed in 2016 as Microsoft Ventures, M12 generally invests from series A to C stage in disruptive enterprise software developers in areas like applied artificial intelligence, business applications, infrastructure and cybersecurity.
