Series A backer Cisco returned for the real-time network control software developer's series B round, which will support global growth.
US-based network management software developer LiveAction secured $36m today in a series B round that included Cisco Investments, the corporate venturing arm of networking technology provider Cisco.
Venture capital and private equity firm Insight Venture Partners led the round, which also featured VC firm Accelerate-IT Ventures (AITV).
LiveAction’s scalable network control software, initially developed to help the US Department of Defense operate its networks, combines what it refers to as an innovative visual display with real-time big data analytics and deep integration with routers and switches.
Darren T. Kimura, CEO and chairman of LiveAction, said: “In 2014, we completed our series A round, led by AITV and Cisco, and invested those proceeds to build a powerful visibility platform used by many of the biggest companies in energy, finance, retail and healthcare. Closing our series B financing enables us to globalise LiveAction.”
LiveAction previously received $5.4m in series A capital from Cisco Investments, AITV and VC firm Enerdigm Ventures in 2014, the year after Enerdigm had supplied it with $500,000 in seed funding.
