Infocom, an IT services subsidiary of chemicals and pharmaceuticals group Teijin, is partnering VC firm Fenox for a Southeast Asian accelerator called GnB.
Japan-based IT services provider Infocom and US-based venture capital firm Fenox Venture Capital launched an accelerator program in Indonesia yesterday called GnB, according to Deal Street Asia.
With dual locations in Silicon Valley and Japan, the initiative invites applications from a number of technology sectors including mobile, internet, software-as-a-service, cloud and health IT.
Support will include seed investment and office space as well as access to Fenox and Infocom’s network of advisers, corporate partners, mentors and investors.
Kentaro Hashimoto, from Infocom’s strategic investment team, will head up the program.
Anis Uzzaman, chief executive of Fenox said: “GnB Accelerator will be a game changer in Southeast Asia. We will have a joint local team on the ground from Silicon Valley and Japan, working alongside local employees.
“We believe in Indonesia – it is the right place and the right time to support ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) startups and help cultivate the region’s next unicorn.”
Infocom is a subsidiary of Japan-based chemical and pharmaceutical company Teijin.
