Mobile marketing business Scan is the latest online startup to get seed capital from Google, with several VCs and angels also participating in the $1.7m round.

Scan, a US-based startup linking businesses with customers using mobile barcode scanning, secured $1.7m in seed financing on Thursday from backers including corporate venturing unit Google Ventures, venture firms Menlo Ventures (which led the round), Charles River Ventures and Ludlow Ventures.
