Smart hearing aid developer Soundhawk has now raised more than $11m after receiving $5.5m from Foxconn, with which it has agreed a strategic partnership, and True Ventures.

US-based smart hearing aid producer Soundhawk has raised $5.5m from investors including contract manufacturer Foxconn and venture capital firm True Ventures.

The funding was announced on Tuesday in conjunction with the formation of a strategic partnership with Foxconn that will involve the China-based company using its expertise, resources and relationships to help Soundhawk scale its business.

Soundhawk has now raised $11.2m in total, following a $5.7m True Ventures-led series A round raised in December 2013.
