NetworkPlay is reportedly raising its second funding round imminently after securing money from Capital 18 and Goosefish Media Ventures in 2008.

Both Pearson and McGraw-Hill became backers of the company in March.

The deal with Mantex comes three months after RWE Innogy founded Innogy Venture Capital as a subsidiary company to formalise its corporate venturing activities begun in 2008.

Smartling has raised $10m in its series B round and plans to invest the money in expanding its web translation service.

Separately one of its portfolio companies, Wildcat Discovery Technologies, has raised $7.5m.

US-based telecoms equipment company Motorola Solutions has led a $1.2m first close by US-based mobile business application company Canvas.
