Electric vehicle developer and rental service Chehejia has raised $151m in a round backed by insurers China Taiping and Ping An.

Redpoint Ventures and Vertex Ventures have funded the Bloomberg-backed software management tool developer's series B round.

The round, backed by Illumina Ventures, brought in $10m in funding though some of that amount was in the form of convertible notes.

Merck returned for the series B round, which was previously revealed through a regulatory filing made in September 2017.
