Germany-based Paymill, a payments company incubated by Rocket Internet, has raised $5m in its series A funding from Blumberg Capital.

Venture capital firms Spark Capital and First Round Capital also invested in the A round led by Intel Capital.

In December 2011, Catabasis extended its series A round by $8m to take its total raised to $47.6m from a consortium including drugs group AstraZeneca's MedImmune Ventures corporate venturing unit.

AOL will reportedly retain an 8% equity stake in About.me.

Novian is looking to raise a further $2.5m in its A round.

Data provider CB Insights said Random House Ventures also invested in the $26.8m round that closed in January, according to its regulatory filing (under Knowledge Holdings).

Alongside Qualcomm Ventures in the A round were angel investors Jerry Yang (Yahoo founder), Subrah Iyar (WebEx founder), and Dan Scheinman (ex-Cisco executive) and Bill Tai, a venture capitalist at Charles River Ventures.
