IDG Ventures (San Francisco) and IDG Capital Partners (China), two corporate venturing units of US publisher International Data Group, co-led the round for Funzio.

Alongside Comcast Interactive Capital in the $20m C round for JiWire were venture capital firms Trident Capital, which led the round, and DFJ Frontier, Norwest Venture Partners and Panorama Capital.

Last month, in a regulatory filing, JumpTap said it had raised $20m but the repeat investors in the latest $25m round include ad services group WPP.

Mizuho through its Alpha TC corporate venturing vehicle that aims to bring Japanese companies to Indian firms, and Tata using its Tata Capital Growth Fund I invested the money for a 13.04% stake in Tata Technologies.

Novartis Venture Fund and Venture Investors, a venture capital (VC) firm investing in university technology transfer start-ups throughout the Midwest of America, co-led the $22m B round for Akebia Therapeutics.

In a regulatory filing first seen by news provider Citybizlist, seven investors have provided the money and the company has directors from Castletop Capital, Watermark Medical, Thomson, Ritchie Capital, Blackstone Group and GMG Capital Partners.
