He is the second senior member of Cemex ventures to announce their departure in as many months.

Mateo Zimmermann Gonzalez, head of venture investments and partnerships at Mexican construction materials company Cemex, has left the company.

The move comes just a month after unit president Gonzalo Galindo announced his own departure from the unit. Both had been with the Cemex Ventures since its founding in 2017.

“I’m now taking some time to reflect and explore what’s next. Always happy to exchange ideas with people building meaningful things,” said Zimmermann on LinkedIn.

Before joining Cemex Ventures, Zimmerman had a four-year stint at Boston Consulting Group. Before that he was briefly a strategy consultant at StepOne Ventures.
