Hani Zaitoun has a background in venture debt at HSBC and Silicon Valley Bank.

Hani Zaitoun has started a new position as VC investment principal at IAGi, the corporate investment arm of IAG, the parent company of several airlines including British Airways, Iberia and Aer Lingus.

Zaitoun was a venture debt finance associate at HSBC Innovation banking for two-and-a-half years. Before that he was an associate at Silicon Valley Bank, a now closed lender to startups.

IAGi runs an accelerator and a venture investment unit. The corporate VC arm invests in early-stage startups in areas including artificial intelligence, automation and robotics, and sustainability and mobility.

In July 2025, it invested in Evitado, a maker of an airport safety technology.
