Kim Yi-tae has become the CEO of Samsung Venture Investment after a company management reshuffle.

Kim Yi-tae has started a new position as chief executive of Samsung Venture Investment Corporation, a corporate venture unit of South Korea-based multinational conglomerate Samsung Group.

Kim was head of strategy and global communications at Samsung Electronics. The move comes after Samsung announced its annual executive reshuffle for 2024.

Before joining Samsung Electronics in 2016 Kim was the former head of international finance at the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

Founded in 1999, Samsung Venture Investment invests in IT, healthcare, media and telecommunications startups in Europe, Asia and North America. It focuses on semiconductors, software and bioengineering.

The firm has 253 companies in its portfolio and has invested in close to 600 startups, including Graphene Square, Snackfor and Verdagy.
