After leaving Legal & General’s corporate VC team last year, Wathen will join Channel 4's media-for-equity team.

Francis Wathen has joined Channel 4 Ventures, the VC investment arm of UK TV broadcaster Channel 4, as an investment principal.
Channel 4 Ventures primarily makes media-for-equity investments. It has backed companies such as visual discovery platform Pinterest, local services marketplace Airtasker and luxury paint company Coat.
The move comes after Wathen spent nearly five years at Legal & General Capital, where he started as a clean energy investment analyst and was most recently a senior investment associate.
Prior to joining Legal & General, Wathen was corporate investment manager at Future Biogas, after a two-year stint as an associate at Distill Ventures, the shuttered CVC arm of drinks maker Diageo.
