Carson Massey has joined laboratory equipment producer Thermo Fisher Scientific’s corporate venture arm as an associate director.

The move comes after nearly five years for Massey at another biotech equipment maker, LabCorp, where he was a corporate development-focused associate for corporate VC subsidiary LabCorp Venture Fund.

Massey will join Thermo Fisher Scientific’s strategic capital team under Bhooshi De Silva. The firm’s startup investments over the past two years have included leading sterility test developer miDiagnostics’s $31.5m series D and backing an $80m series B for disease modelling startup CytoReason.

Prior to joining LabCorp as a senior finance analyst in 2021, Massey worked as an analyst for life sciences investment firm NovaQuest Capital Management and investment manager Raymond James Financial.
