Kevin Ssemwogerere, previously a renewable energy-focused CVC lead, is appointed SVP of investment banking ventures at the South African bank.
Kevin Ssemwogerere has taken up a senior vice president of investment banking ventures role at South African financial services firm Standard Bank Group.
In his new job, Ssemwogerere will help the bank develop new products in investment banking through corporate venture capital, strategic investments and partnerships.
Ssemwogerere joined the bank in 2015 and joined the corporate venturing team three years later to lead CVC initiatives. In 2020, he co-founded PowerPulse to focus on renewable energy.
Standard Bank Group participated in road freight cargo platform Tripplo’s $1.8m seed round in October 2023 after leading the company’s initial round of undisclosed size the year before.
