UK oil and gas producer BP has promoted Sophia Nadur to interim managing director of Europe and the rest of the world for its corporate venturing arm, BP Ventures.

Nadur has been with BP for more than five years since 2018, initially as a global emobility innovation director where she led the firm’s advanced mobility unit and its electrification platform, BP Pulse.

BP Ventures took Nadur on board as managing partner in late 2020 and tasked her with investing in companies from the Asia-Pacific and Middle East markets that are working on emobility, clean energy and ESG-focused technologies.

During that time, Nadur helped BP Ventures invest in ride hailing and EV charging service BluSmart, EV charging station management platform PowerShare and R&B, which is working on AI-driven energy management software. Global Corporate Venturing named her an Emerging Leader in 2022, along with former principal David Clouse.
