Ryoya Shimada was based at Sony Innovation Fund in Tokyo, Japan.

Ryoya Shimada has left Sony Innovation Fund, the investment arm of the Japanese consumer electronics and entertainment company.

Shimada was director of portfolio management at Sony Innovation Fund for a little under a year. He started out at Sony in 2016 as a corporate strategy specialist. He spent more than four years as a business development manager for Sony Semiconductor EU in the UK, a group that makes semiconductor products.

Shimada did not disclose where he is going to next, although he said in a LinkedIn post that he will start a new role in Tokyo in a different industry early next year.
