Sebastien Lerbourg leaves Nova

Claude-Sebastien Lerbourg has announced his departure from Nova by Saint-Gobain, the corporate venture capital subsidiary of France-based construction and manufacturing group Saint-Gobain.

After serving six years at Nova, where he was external ventures manager in Asia before being promoted to director of external ventures in Europe, Lerbourg will now serve as investment director at Supernova Invest, an €800m ($862m) venture capital firm.

Lerbourg began his career at Saint-Gobain in 2008 as a product engineer for construction products. He held various positions at its Saint-Gobain Abrasives division in China, including market manager for industrial distribution and business unit manager for automotive aftermarket. He was a GCV Rising Star in 2022.

“As I close a significant chapter of 15 years with Saint-Gobain, I reflect on the experiences gained and the people met which have been crucial to my development. My gratitude towards Saint-Gobain for these formative years is immense,” said Sebastien Lerbourg in a post on LinkedIn.

Nova was founded in 2005 and invests in business-to-business commercial products, energy, advanced manufacturing and real estate startups across North America, Europe, Africa and Asia. It has more than 50 companies in its portfolio including Nuqlea, CarbiCrete and Newboot.
