After leading Wayra Hispanoamérica, Augustín Rotondo joins the Guatemalan conglomerate to run its venture unit.

Agustín Rotondo was tapped to lead CMI Ventures, the corporate venturing unit of Guatemalan conglomerate Corporación Multi Inversiones (CMI).
CMI owns a series of popular restaurants, food producers, energy and financial services companies across the Latin American region. The VC team primarily focuses on foodtech, green energy, digitisation and next-gen logistics.
Rotondo joins the team after more than five years leading Wayra, telecoms provider Telefónica’s innovation division, in Spanish-speaking Latin America, before which he had been the unit’s country manager for Argentina.
He is replacing Francesco Marzano in the role, who has gone on to be executive chairman of Guatemalan family office Losa Group.
