PanasonicWell appointed Christie Pitts to identify family-oriented investment, partnership and M&A opportunities.
Christie Pitts has joined PanasonicWell, the incubation arm of Japanese electronics firm Panasonic, as head of corporate and business development.
Founded in July 2023, PanasonicWell helps create new businesses in Japan and the US that are focused on healthcare, wellness and family-related technologies and services. Its target areas include AI-driven software and hardware products.
Yohana, a US digital personal assistant that helps families plan everyday tasks, is a portfolio company. Yoky Matsuoka, the founder and chief executive of Yohana, also serves as CEO of PanasonicWell.
Pitts’s new role includes strategic investing, commercial partnerships and M&A. She was an investor in residence at startup accelerator Techstars Detroit for 10 months from September 2023 and a co-founder of reproductive rights-driven venture capital coalition VCs for Repro.
“At PanasonicWell, we are working to enable family harmony,” Pitts said in a LinkedIn post. “I’ll be leading our partnership function to realise this important vision in the United States and Japan.”
