Olli Parkkonen will now serve as the manager of startup investments where he will manage Fortum's M&A projects and startup piloting initiatives.

Parkkonen new position

Olli Parkkonen has announced that he has been promoted to manager of startup investments at Fortum, a Finnish energy company.

Parkkonen previously served as the manager for insight sharing and fund collaboration at Fortum’s $100m investment vehicle.

Before joining Fortum in 2023, Parkkonen spent six years as the head of business development at Nuuka Solutions, a Finland-based software development company. He was also at Engeia for two years holding positions such as development manager for utilities and large customers sales.

Founded in 1998, Fortum is an operator of renewable energy power plants. The corporation has a strong presence in the Nordic and Baltic regions, and has made 75 investments since its launch.

Notable investments include Eliq, a home energy efficiency scale-up that raised $10.9m in November 2023 and Telege Energi, an electricity solutions provider which Fortum acquired in August 2023.
