Tomoyuki Otsu joined Mitsubishi straight after university and took part in various business development and VC roles.

Tomoyuki Otsu, a former manager in Mitsubishi’s CVC and business incubation unit, has left to join Japanese venture capital firm Global Brain as a director in its investment group.

Otsu spent more than 14 years at the Japanese conglomerate in various roles including business strategy in its mineral investment business and in business development in Africa.

He took part in corporate venture capital activities as part of Mitsubishi’s business incubation unit between 2018 and 2021, and then again between 2024 and 2025.

Global Brain invests in startups through its own funds and manages corporate venture capital funds on behalf of Japanese corporations.
