Sameer Malhotra spent seven years in investment roles at Bank of America and J.P. Morgan before joining the market maker company.

Sameer Malhotra has joined electronic market maker Optiver as a senior investor in its venture capital investments team.

Malhotra was previously a senior investment professional at Bank of America’s global principal investments arm, which manages private equity investments that are strategic to the bank.

Optiver trades financial instruments on exchanges around the world to improve market liquidity.

Its investments team take minority equity position in startups in the trading and commodities sectors, as well as in technologies related to the capital markets, exchanges, trading platforms, clearing and settlement, and brokerage.

Portfolio companies include Equiduct, a pan-European exchange for retail and institutional investors; Osaka Dojima Exchange, an exchange in Japan’s Kansai region offering instruments in precious metals, agricultural and index derivatives; and BMLL Technologies, a capital markets data and analytics company.
