Hybrid propulsion systems manufacturer Allison Transmission has hired Justin LaRocca as the director of its new venture arm.
Justin LaRocca has announced he will be joining Allison Ventures, the newly established corporate venture arm of the US-based manufacturer of hybrid propulsion systems Allison Transmission.
After spending two years as Allison Transmission’s senior manager of corporate development, LaRocca will now serve as the director of Allison Ventures.
LaRocca spent four years at US-based motor vehicle manufacturer Meritor, where he held positions including manager of industrial integration and senior operations manager. He also spent two years at AxleTech International as a global aftermarket controller and purchasing manager.
Allison Transmission announced the launch of Allison Ventures this week. The firm will invest and partner with startups and growth-stage companies to promote advancements in commercial-duty mobility and work solutions.
Allison Ventures will invest in digitisation, automation, sustainability, electrification manufacturing and operations tech. Allison Transmission previously acquired two companies including Walker Die Casting, an aluminum die-casting company that was acquired in 2021.
