Gil Kim spent six years at Applied Materials in business development and investor roles.

Gil Kim, investment manager at Applied Ventures, the corporate venturing arm of US supplier of semiconductor equipment Applied Materials, has left the company.
Kim had worked at Applied Materials since 2019, first in a senior business development manager role and then as investment manager at the corporate venture arm.
Before that, he worked in consulting at Bain & Company in San Francisco and L.E.K Consulting in South Korea.
Kim did not mention where he was going to next in the LinkedIn post announcing his departure but mentioned he would continue investing in startups.
Applied Ventures was set up more than 10 years ago to invest in startups across the semiconductor value chain. It has invested in more than 90 companies and its investments have resulted in more than 10 IPO exits.
