He will focus on investing in SaaS, consumer software and cleantech startups.

Jongho Joo has joined Signite Partners, the investment arm of South Korean retail company Shinsegae Group, as managing director.

Joo brings over eight years of experience in early and late-stage VC and corporate VC. He was previously managing director at VC firm GrandeClip Partners. Prior to that, he spent nearly five years leading a team of investment professionals at Woowa Brothers, a South Korean food delivery platform.

In a LinkedIn post announcing his move, Joo mentioned his intention of finding and investing in “startups that have the potential to become the next big thing in everyday lifestyle”.

Signite Partners was founded in 2020 and seeks to invest in companies operating in the B2B, software-as-a-service, artificial intelligence, data analysis, healthcare, education, retail and entertainment sectors.
