Carmaker Jaguar Land Rover’s corporate venture arm, InMotion Ventures, added Edouard Chavassieu to its investment team this week as it looks to reach further into Europe.

Chavassieu’s background is mainly in ecommerce. He comes to InMotion after more than 18 months at online luxury fashion marketplace Farfetch where he was a senior commercial project manager. The hiring brings the unit’s team up to six.

InMotion funds across enterprise, climate and industrial technology developers, primarily making first investments at seed or series A stage. Its portfolio includes battery materials recycler Ascend Elements and communications system developer CesiumAstro.

His associate role at InMotion will involve Chavassieu, a native French speaker, helping UK-based InMotion enhance its relationships in Europe, particularly in France, expanding the reach of a portfolio that is predominantly located in the US or the UK at present.
